Biography

Mohamed Abdelfattah is a lecturer in the Civil Systems Engineering department at TU Berlin and a PhD researcher under the supervision of Prof. Timo Hartmann. His research focuses on applying deep learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) to enhance the resilience of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge. At TU Berlin, he teaches various modules in the Civil Systems Engineering international master’s program, specializing in AI-driven infrastructure resilience, system dynamics modeling, and smart mobility solutions.

Biography

Isabelle studied Civil Engineering and is currently a PhD Student at the Chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute for Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. Her research interests are in the areas of systems engineering, ontology development and machine learning in AEC. Her current independent research investigates the potential for optimizing floor plans with regard to fire safety by applying reinforcement learning, also taking into account and combining it with formalized ontology knowledge. A primary objective is to ascertain whether and to what extent formalized ontology knowledge facilitates agent learning.

Biography

Yuye Jiang holds dual bachelor's degree in Building Electrical and Intelligence from Tongji University, China, and studied Building Services and Energy Technology at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, Germany (2015–2019). Since 2021, Yuye Jiang has been pursuing a master's degree in Resource Efficient and Sustainable Building at the Technical University of Munich. With a strong engineering background, Yuye Jiang is particularly interested in BIM and efficient computational modeling for the AEC sector. Currently, Yuye Jiang focuses on practical research related to BIM and is engaged with the Chair of Computational Modeling and Simulation at TUM.

Dr. Jiajing Liu is an Assistant Professor at the College of Civil Engineering, Hunan University, specializing in intelligent control for construction safety. Dr. Liu has published nearly 20 high-quality academic papers and has served as an editor or co-editor for four nationally planned textbooks and monographs. She has applied for or been granted seven invention patents. Dr. Liu has led four national-level research projects. As a core team member, she has also contributed to five consulting service projects for enterprises. In 2023, she was awarded the Second Prize in the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
