Dress to Impress – getting dressed as you would to attend a conference in person can really enhance your engagement level and make you feel more present!
Reward Yourself – You Deserve it! Make sure to have a nice coffee and a cake to hand at your breaks the way you would at a physical conference.
Don’t be Shy – we're all pretty new to virtual, take the lead and network your way through the day, make new contacts and learn new things!
Write it down – scribe a few bullet points of what you want to achieve from the conference to help you get the best from the day!
Remove Distractions – it's easy to get caught up in other activities or what's going on in your home or office – try to make sure you have a nice quiet, calm environment for the day.
Sit at a suitable workstation/screen to ensure your comfort and safety.
Arrive a few minutes early to ensure you can log on successfully.
Make sure you are using the correct browser if instructed to do so.
Treat it like you would an ‘in-person’ conference. Book the time out in your work diary and tell your colleagues that you are attending a conference.
It's all in the detail! Remember to take the time to read any instructions that are sent out prior to the conference.
